I was walking through the store the other day and passed by a pair of sandals.  As I continued shopping, I thought ‘Those would be perfect for the summer!’  So, of course I went back and got them.  The next day I was sporting my new kicks, but by the end of the day my foot started hurting.  After I got home and examined where the pain was coming from, I noticed a small blister starting to form.  I didn’t want it to become a full-fledged golf ball, so I went online to look for a remedy.  I came across an article with 19 Home Cures on Prevention.com, which suggests using Listerine for blisters.  Check out the list below to see what other household items you have in your cupboards that could help cure minor ailments (see article for more details):

  1. Vodka (or rubbing alcohol) for foot odor
  2. Pencil for Headaches
  3. Yogurt for bad breath
  4. Listerine for blisters
  5. Lemon balm tea for cold sores
  6. Licorice for calluses and corns
  7. Tennis ball for achy feet
  8. Olive oil for eczema
  9. Sugar for hiccups
  10. iPod for high blood pressure
  11. Olives or lemons for motion sickness
  12. Vegetable oil for brittle nails
  13. Ice cream for pizza burn
  14. Peppermint or cinnamon gum for the stress of a traffic-packed commute
  15. Apple for whiter teeth
  16. Baking soda for urinary tract infections
  17. Cloves for cuts
  18. Papaya for smoother skin
  19. Duct tape for warts

I’m going to try the Listerine tonight.  I know these might sound crazy, but these tips come from medical professionals in The Big Doctors Book of Home Remedies.  I also once heard of using toothpaste on acne, but I do not know if that one is from a reliable source!  Do you know of any other homeopathic solutions or secret home remedies?  I’m interested to hear whether or not these work, so please leave your comments for me!
